After having spent the past 25 years in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Russell and Heather Thomas are excited to be in Okotoks, the new home of Birdsong Studios. Our vision for Birdsong is to have an open studio where friends and artists can retreat, gather, share and collaborate on new ideas and techniques. It is a safe place where our innermost selves can be explored and expressed, inviting greater insight, growth and healing. We invite everyone to join us and experience the joy that comes with creation, connection and the opening of hearts and minds to what is possible.
Welcome
Russell Thomas
Russell started painting (for real) when he began a marketing position with the Fort McMurray United Way in 2014 at the age of 47. In the proceeding years, Russell has created hundreds of paintings and shared his gift with tens of thousands more through social media and live painting performances.
